About the Author
Andrew Gamman's desire is to provide easy to use suggestions about how the applications could be used in a worship service or study group. His style is down to earth, accessible and widely valued. Prior to writing Taking Flight, Andrew wrote a weekly lectionary resource called '10 Minutes on a Tuesday' for the Methodist Church of New Zealand between 2010 and 2014. This resource was widely used in New Zealand and across the world, particularly in the Methodist denomination. 'Taking Flight' came about as a result of enquiries from people all over the world, who wanted to receive Andrew's weekly lectionary resources on an ongoing basis.

Taking Flight is a great resource for leading worship and other contexts with plenty of food for thought and ideas that you can pick up when preparing for a Sunday service. - Jessica, Wesley Broadway Palmerston North Methodist Parish, Manawatu, New Zealand
I would highly recommend this website it has provided innovative ideas to progress local mission. The latest used being the advent meditation services. I used these to open the church on a Sunday evening. Only two or three from the church attended but fellowship was found from others attending, some who had not entered a church for over 20 years, drawn by the idea of meditation at this time. Time with God set aside from our busy-ness in a place of quiet. I also set up a labyrinth walk in conjuction with this service. - Rev. Felicity Smith, South Kaipara Anglican/Methodist, New Zealand
It is a privilege for me to write recommending ‘Taking Flight’ to you. I don’t like to admit that I find sermon prep hard. Sunday is always looming and sitting at my desk on a Tuesday morning is not my favourite thing to do. Andrew and Caroline have this resource especially for me. They help stimulate my thinking and my creativity and help focus my thoughts as I prepare to deliver God’s word to God’s people. I don’t always even go along with their thinking (mostly I do) but it puts me on the path. The additional resources for those special times get used regularly in our parish and I appreciate those especially because I am not capable nor do I have the time to come up with them myself. So a very big thanks to you both – you keep me on the straight and narrow. - Anne, New Zealand
