Experiential sensory prayer makes use of anything that can be touched, smelled, tasted, looked at or heard and therefore turned into a prayer. Instead of prayer being a words-based communication with God, by using an experiential approach, prayer becomes a powerful experience of walking through the activities and events that make up our daily journey.
By using dozens of everyday objects, and focussing on the senses of touch, taste, hear, sight and smell, experiential prayer brings the connection between God and us to a very ordinary, everyday, whole of life experience. We find using ordinary items as an entry to prayer, brings richness to our journey of faith as it gets us thinking, focusing and concentrating on our own real life, faith journey!
We have several different 5 Senses to Prayer Resources, suitable for use in a variety of settings, whether personally or in groups or churches.
